                                 The Ministry of Culture, together with the Ministry of Education, compiled a list of recommendations for the project “Cultural normative of a student”, which was created for the voluntary self-education of Russian students. In particular, the songs Nirvana and Queen were included in it. “The cultural normative of a schoolboy”, as stated in the document, “is aimed at the spiritual, aesthetic and artistic development of Russian schoolchildren and enhancing the cultural literacy of the younger generation.” It is intended to show students works that are considered the best examples of domestic and world culture. Within each direction (literature, visual arts, architecture, folk culture, music, theater and cinema), the works are divided by age groups. In addition to the classical works of Tchaikovsky, Rimsky-Korsakoy and Bach, students were invited to study the songs Smells Like Teen Spirit by Nirvana, Bohemian Rhapsody of the group Queen and All You Need Is Love by The Beatles. Also, the student was invited to study the work of ABBA, Pink Floyd, Elvis Presley, Vladimir Vysotsky, Viktor Tsoi, “Time Machine” and others. The list of references included “451 degrees Fahrenheit” by Ray Bradbury, “Lord of the Flies” William Golding, “The Lord of the Rings” by John R. R. Tolkien, “1984” by George Orwell and other works. The list of films includes “Ivan Childhood” by Andrei Tarkovsky, “Schindler’s List” by Stephen Spielberg, “Spirited Away” “Hayao Miyajaki,” Society of the Dead Poets “by Peter Weir and others.
